This May the vibrant creative energy of Amsterdam played host to the latest edition of our Production Paradise Portfolio Review, held at the stunning Studio 13. Photographers from across Europe gathered for two days of meaningful one-on-one meetings, insights, and real industry connections with top creative professionals from around the world.
Connecting with Industry Leaders Through One-on-One Reviews
This year’s Amsterdam Portfolio Review brought together an exceptional lineup of creative directors, art buyers, producers, agents, and editors from top agencies such as Leo Burnett, Edelman, TBWA, VML, and many more. Over two days, each participating photographer engaged in 5 to 10 personalised one-on-one sessions, carefully curated to align with their goals and creative direction.
These 20-minute meetings were more than just reviews, they were real opportunities to explore new creative directions, ask focused questions, and receive honest, actionable insights from decision-makers who commission talent for major campaigns and editorial work. The sessions encouraged open discussions, with reviewers offering tailored portfolio advice and suggestions for how to improve positioning within the commercial photography space.
At Production Paradise, our mission is to connect top-tier creative talent with the right people and opportunities. Through events like the Portfolio Review, we help photographers expand their network, gain visibility, and unlock new career possibilities. It's not just about showing work, it's about building relationships that last.
“It was truly an amazing event! I really enjoyed being part of it and connecting with such talented creatives. Congratulations to the entire Production Paradise team for pulling it off so smoothly!”
Thiago Campos, Associate Creative Director, Edelman, London
"Your roster of talents is very good, you made a good selection: they are good photographers and also easy to deal with, with no fuss. I’ll be happy to keep my eyes open for future collabs if something comes up."
Alberto Benza, Art Buyer & Creative Director, Milan

Networking That Goes Beyond the Meetings
While the one-on-one sessions were the cornerstone of the event, the Portfolio Review was also about bringing the creative community together. Informal networking played a huge role in fostering genuine connections between participants and reviewers, often continuing long after the scheduled meetings ended.
From shared lunches to relaxed evening dinners, including vibrant cocktail-style dinners at Brasserie NeL and a beautifully catered meal on-site at Studio 13 where attendees had plenty of moments to exchange experiences, ideas, and even future plans in a more casual setting. These shared experiences often sparked new collaborations and friendships, reinforcing the sense of community at the heart of the Production Paradise network.

''What an amazing few days! I am super reflective and incredibly inspired! Forever grateful for the opportunity and for all the creative souls I had the pleasure of meeting.''
Clair Angel, Photographer, London
A Platform That Opens Doors
For many photographers, the Portfolio Review wasn’t just a learning opportunity, it was a step forward in their careers. The ability to receive direct, personal feedback from people who hire talent every day offered clarity and direction that can’t be gained from online interactions alone. And the connections made during the event often lead to long-term visibility and new opportunities within the creative industry, even after the two days are over.
''I have been at the Portfolio Review five times and have always appreciated the rare chance to get honest, professional feedback from art buyers I would not otherwise get to meet. I gain fresh perspective on my strengths, spot weaknesses I may have overlooked, and often get clarity on how my work is perceived and how I can move on from here. These events are always great networking opportunities hopefully leading to assignments, and even if no immediate opportunity arises, it helps me understand how I am seen and I always return home with renewed energy and inspiration.
Production Paradise always manages to put together a great event, and besides meeting interesting creatives, I particularly enjoy and value getting to know fellow photographers with whom I exchange my experiences in this industry.''
Mikkel Jul Hvilshøj, Photographer, Copenhagen
''I love this event. To meet relevant reviewers outside my own network. The chance to get a genuine feedback on your work that you present for them. A thing I really enjoy too is to meet all the colleagues from around the world. To see and hear there challenges in the business els where around the world. Small but not least it's nice to get out of your own hood and see different countries. I'll be back ;-)''
Niels Busch, Photographer, Copenhagen
