Meet Courage Production, a production service company, leveraging their international network to thrive in Italy's competitive market despite lacking local connections, and emphasizes their commitment to maintaining high standards, transparency, and creating memorable experiences for clients.
Can you tell us about the origins of Courage Production and what inspired you to create your company?
Courage came naturally to us. Since 2013, Marco Miraglia and I have been producing and creating content in London and Paris. Early that year, we met in LA on a project and casually discussed creating our own venture in Milan, possibly moving back to Italy after nearly a decade abroad. We had no connections to the Italian market or professionals, so it was a risky move into a completely new environment. However, our international network set us apart from our competitors and enabled us to thrive since that year.
What is the core mission of Courage Production? How do you differentiate yourself from other production companies in Italy?
Courage is primarily a production service for brands and international production companies. We work extensively with brands and producers that need help organizing their campaigns and shoots in Italy. Additionally, we collaborate with agencies and sometimes take on creative production roles to support brands with creative aspects of their shoots.
What are some of the most memorable projects you've worked on and why do they standout to you?
There have been a few memorable shoots for sure. We tend to remember the most challenging or unexpected ones, as it's part of our job, isn't it? I would consider the tempestuous The North Face shoot we recently completed in the snowy Alps (with over 1 meter of fresh snow at the end of May), the Peroni campaign with Charles Leclerc shot on Lake Como (for how kind and nice he was during all day), and the Kith campaign with the talented Adrien Brody at Avilla in Puglia where we had the chance to admire his incredible acting skills.
Can you tell us more about your recent shoot for Parisian fashion brand Sézane, L'avventuradi Sézane. Can you take us through the brief and how you managed to find the perfect locations?
Winning the pitch for Sézane’s Campaign "L’Avventura" was a great opportunity for us. It allowed us to shoot with the same brand in different parts of the country throughout the year, from the north to the south. We had photo shoots in Rome, Milan, Sicily, and the Amalfi Coast from autumn 2023 to late spring 2024. We quickly aligned with the client’s workflow after the first shoot and were able to deliver better and more tailored productions each time. It was a lot of fun!
As a company operating across Italy and internationally, how do you manage and coordinate your projects with all the parties involved?
We work hard to keep our own identity when shooting away in various parts of Italy; as we try to hire as many locals as possible, it is sometime shard to find people that share the same good vibes and values. Over the years, we have created a network of like-minded people so that we can always ensure that our services meet the Courage standards, as well as the client’s standards and that the brand’s team will surely travel back home with good memories and great stills and videos.
What is your approach to building and maintaining relationships with high-profile clients and brands?
Transparency, fairness, and realistic pricing are fundamental to our services. Our client scan collaborate with us to modify any specific service outlined in our budgets, and we will always find a solution to align our production approach with their vision.
Can you share any upcoming projects or initiatives that you’re particularly excited about?
We’re launching our new website in August, and we’re thrilled to show you more in-depth what Courage’s world is about. Yes, Courage is primarily a production service, but we are also a team of thinkers who live a gratifying life around the world and that reflects on the experience our clients have while visiting Italy.
Why is it important for you to be part of Production Paradise, and how has it been beneficial for you so far?
Production Paradise is a spotlight for us and other companies, some of which we personally know or have contacts with. It’s thrilling to be part of a community that strives to strengthen our industry and connect professionals, a healthy network is something we will always need.
We thank Courage Production for their time and insight! You can see more of their work on their Production Paradise member page and website.
